A Member of the Responsible AI Group Visited Fraunhofer IESE in Germany

Recently, Dr Koorosh Aslansefat, a member of the Responsible AI Group, visited the renowned Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering (IESE) in Kaiserslautern, Germany. The visit focused on building long-term collaboration strategies between the University of Hull and Fraunhofer IESE, particularly in the area of Dependable AI.

The University of Hull has a strong and growing relationship with Fraunhofer IESE, exemplified by previous joint efforts such as the development of SafeML and SMILE—two innovative methods proposed in collaboration to ensure the safety and interpretability of machine learning systems.

During this visit, discussions revolved around deepening this partnership to further advance research in responsible and dependable AI. This initiative underscores the shared commitment of both institutions to creating AI systems that are dependable and responsible.
